Always wanting to blog, but never really knowing what to blog about, a series of undesirable experiences over the last year has lead me to finally create my outlet, as I figure it’s always worth trying.
I aim to blog about my everyday experiences, beauty regimes, bad clothing choices and cats, and I hope that there’s a bunch of you out there who will enjoy reading my little snippets of life.
While I masquerade under the nickname “Lady A”, it may (not) surprise you to know that I am not actually a Lady – in the noble sense – and my real name is Alix.
23 years ago my mum chose my name after being inspired by her favourite character in the 1987 comedy horror Witches of Eastwick, Alexandra Medford, played by Cher. Preferring the shortened version “Alex” but not wanting anyone to call me Alexandra, she chose the alternative spelling with an ‘I’ and not an ‘E’ and I was officially destined never to receive any customised anything in my life.
I chose to use “Lady A”, a nickname given to me by a former boss, because I felt it had a better ring to it than my real name, and it also gave me a sense of hidden identity. I could be more.. me. My handles are all @AllLadyA because, as it turns out, Lady A is a popular nickname and the alternatives were already taken!
For now though, have a beautiful day!
