Glossybox: Secret Santa

My full review of the December Glossybox will be released soon, but to begin with I wanted to do a quick review of the products from my Secret Santa Glossybox!

Basically, by signing up to Glossybox in December, I got a free gift of a mystery box that contained a few extra goodies.

One of the free gifts was Nanogen’s Root Boost Hair Thickening Spray, which is known as a “blow dry in a bottle”. You spritz it onto dry or damp hair, and then blow dry to activate the thickening properties. I’m always sceptical of things like this, because they often make your hair feel dry or waxy and can leave it greasy the next day.

I was pleasantly surprised and am pleased to tell you that this wasn’t the case! I apply it daily now to damp hair before I blow dry and it gives my hair lots of volume and doesn’t leave any residue or greasiness. I would thoroughly recommend and I’ll be purchasing a full size bottle when this runs out!

De Bruyere

The De Bruyère eyeshadow pencil was something I was happy to receive, I love the colour and after swatching it on my arm, was looking forward to using it.

However, once I’d used it, I found it didn’t stay put and slid around my eyelids. It gathered in the creases and the glitter/shimmer particles balled up and sat in the corners of my eyes. As a freebie, I can’t really complain, but I wouldn’t recommend it, there are much better cream/pencil eyeshadows out there.

The last product in the box was this Gold Brightening Facial Treatment mask. I love facial masks, no matter what their intended purpose, they always at least make your skin feel soft and clean.

This one was a silicone mask, designed to deeply moisturise and brighten skin.

As per all pre-cut facial masks, it did not fit on my face properly:

And while sat for 20 minutes looking like an alien had latched onto my face, I found I had to keep repositioning it as it was quite stretchy and moved about.

After using it, my skin felt clean and soft. I have no idea if it made my skin brighter but it was a nice little pamper treatment!

While it was nice to have a few extra goodies, I wasn’t over the moon with the contents, but I can’t complain when it’s free!

Keep your eyes peeled for my review of the actual December Glossybox! I’m excited to show you what I thought!
